We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve received the Software and Application Service Innovation Award for our Telstra Prepaid project at The Global Telecoms Business 2017 Awards earlier this week.

Telstra initially deployed our Digital Commerce platform for its postpaid mobile business back in 2014, to great success. In the summer of 2016, the company was looking to strengthen its leadership in the prepaid market, and chose to expand the Digital Commerce platform across its entire prepaid business, along with the launch of a new set of offerings. By replacing their legacy prepaid infrastructure with MATRIXX Digital Commerce, Telstra’s prepaid customers are now empowered through the Telstra 24×7® app to select their own service mix on-demand, control their mobile account in real-time, and easily manage budgets and data consumption.

Telstra’s new app was a timely solution for today’s on-demand consumers who are looking for greater personalization and control. Our recent consumer survey revealed that over half of all mobile users, including those on unlimited plans, would change their mobile service today if they had more choice and control over how they used their data. In fact, if they could choose the best plan to meet their needs in the moment, over 50 percent would change their data plan at least once a month – some as frequently as every day.

Digital channels now account for 58 percent of Telstra’s consumer service transactions

Digital channels now account for 58 percent of Telstra’s consumer service transactions, with nearly three million customers regularly using the Telstra app and My Account portals for activities such as keeping track of their data usage and staying in control of their account and services. Customers now use Telstra online channels at the moment that best suits them, with the ability to instantly make a change to their service, or to complete transactions such as purchas extra mobile data, unlock a mobile device, or request a payment extension.

The Global Telecoms Business awards recognize the industry’s most innovative & successful project partnerships between the operators and vendors over the last 12 months and showcases the very best projects, featuring entries from every corner of industry to reveal the latest innovations – be it application, design, network or product.

We are honored to receive this prestigious award, and all of us extend our warmest gratitude to Telstra, who have helped to make MATRIXX Digital Commerce so successful.
